# Milestone management

## Create predefined milestones

Predefine a list of milestone templates with their corresponding owners and approvers. This creates a reusable library of standard milestones that can be used across launches and templates.

{% hint style="info" %}
All predefined milestones are available to all users in the workspace
{% endhint %}

1. Go to **Settings > Milestone Management**
2. Click "**Add a new milestone**"
3. Enter milestone details:
   1. Name (required)
   2. Owner (individual user or team)
   3. Approvers (individual users or teams, if relevant)

## Use predefined milestones

Your predefined milestone library can be used when creating milestones in:

* **Stage Management**: When adding milestones under specific stages
* **Launch Details**: When creating milestones directly in a launch
* **Templates**: When setting up milestone templates for reuse

**How it works**: when creating a milestone, click the arrow next to "Add new milestone" and select "+ Import from existing list" to choose from your predefined milestones. This ensures consistency and saves time on repetitive milestone setup.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.withluna.ai/workspace-settings/milestone-management.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
