# Luna Launch status updates

Luna's AI generates executive-focused launch status updates that save Product Managers time by creating comprehensive reports with insights from multiple data sources.

## How it works

Luna's AI synthesizes information from: **Luna data**, **Jira data** and **external notes.**

1. **Luna data:**

2. **Jira data**: when launches are linked to Jira issues, AI performs the comprehensive Jira analysis detailed above and combines the output with Luna data and external notes data.

## Structure and content

Status updates include:

* **Executive summary**: high-level status and business impact assessment
* **Progress and timeline**: milestone completions, achievements, and recent decisions
* **Risks and blockers:** open risks from the different sources
* **Next steps**: upcoming milestones, priorities, and recommended actions

## Status inference

Based on all collected data signals, Luna's AI infers an overall launch status (On Track, At Risk, Possible Delays) using predefined rules that analyze the comprehensive data points. This AI-inferred status may differ from the manually set status in Luna, providing an objective assessment based on actual progress indicators and identified blockers.

## How to generate status updates

* **From Launch Details Page:**
  * Click "**Status Update**" button at the top right
* **From Roadmaps:**
  * Select one or multiple launches
  * Click "**Status Update**"

## Review and publish process

1. Analysis appears in the [**AI Insights Hub**](https://docs.withluna.ai/ai/about-the-insights-hub)
2. Review, edit, copy, or share the generated update
3. **Share functionality**: recipients receive email notifications to access the update in their own Insights Hub.
4. **Publish** to distribute across:
   * Launch Details Page updates module
   * All Updates page
   * Launch right panel in Roadmaps
   * Slack (if integration enabled)
