# Label management

Labels help categorize and organize your launches across the workspace. Use labels to tag launches by project type, priority, team focus, or any other criteria that helps with filtering and organization.

Any Maker can create, edit, or delete labels workspace-wide.

## Create labels

### Create manually

In **Settings > Labels Management**

1. Go to **Settings > Labels Management**
2. Click "**Add new label**"
3. Enter:
   1. Label name (required)
   2. Color for visual identification

**Create labels on-the-go**

* **From launch pages**: create labels while editing launch details
* **From template pages**: create labels while setting up templates
* Labels created anywhere automatically appear in the Labels Management list

### Labels created automatically

Luna automatically creates labels in certain situations:

* **From Jira imports:** when importing launches from Jira, existing Jira labels are automatically added to your Luna labels list
* **From "Tell Us Your Plan"**: when using AI planning, Luna automatically creates a label like "Your plan - 14 Aug 2025" to group related launches from that planning session

## Use labels

### **Add labels to launches**

* Add labels to launches for categorization and organization
* Labels help identify launch types, priorities, or themes at a glance
* No limit on labels per launch

### **Filtering and views**

* In Roadmap views: filter launches by one or more labels
* In Timeline views: use labels as dimensions to group and organize your roadmap

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.withluna.ai/workspace-settings/label-management.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
